Export YouTube Subscriptions to XLS to Backup and Share (depreciated)

This post has been depreciated please go to Export OPML Directly from within YouTube (finally)

Why would you want of list of YouTube channel subscriptions?

To follow them via a RSS client of course. Oh, yeah as a backup too. in case your account is deleted or taken over.

Like the websites and blogs I follow via RSS subscriptions, I wanted to do that with the YouTube channels.

I could have entered them manually but if you know me you know I like to follow a bunch of different topics. So web feed syndication is an efficient way of notifying me of new channel content.

There are options in YouTube to receive email notifications, but if you’re like me you get way to many emails already.

I could not find a way to export my YouTube subscriptions natively within YouTube. While searching, I found a great web site that exports an Excel spreadsheet of YouTube channel subscriptions.

The website is http://www.williamsportwebdeveloper.com/subsbackup.aspx

After exporting the XLS, convert it to an OPML file and import into your RSS client.

What is RSS?

What is OPML?

Find my OPML file here.

If you know if another way or how to do it natively within YouTube please let me know.
